- We offer opportunities to volunteers. You may wish to gain work experience in a legal/office environment – or you may like to give us the benefit of your experience. Whichever is the case, volunteering will give you an opportunity to contribute to the local community. You will be made very welcome and you will work in a friendly and supportive environment.
If you are interested please complete the form and email to firstname.lastname@example.org. If there is a suitable role available, we will invite you to an informal interview. This will give you a chance to ask questions and find out more about the Centre and what volunteering involves.
Over the years we have been able to help many more people because of the hard work and commitment of our volunteers.
- Reception and admin volunteers assist our staff in providing a friendly and efficient service to members of the public. Typical tasks involve greeting people who come into the Centre, answering incoming phone calls, booking appointments and helping with other administrative tasks such as filing, routine letters and inputting client information on the computer.
- You can make a big contribution to the local community by becoming a volunteer adviser. We will provide you with training and support to help you develop the skills you need. Initially, you will undertake a combination of internal and external training, e-learning, written work and observing client interviews. In order to gain experience, you may also assist advisers with their casework.
For this role, volunteers are normally expected to be available for 10 hours per week for a period of at least 1 year. However, if you already have experience in this area a shorter time commitment is negotiable.
